How are your specimens sourced?
More about our Specimens & Taxidermy Here

Specimen Condition

As our specimens are authentic products of nature, having lived, achieving perfection in quality is not possible. Some may exhibit missing antennae or chipped wings. I photograph all our specimens in natural sunlight, making any imperfections visible. It is these unique characteristics that contribute to their inherent beauty.

What do i need to do to maintain my display?

Preserving Your Treasures

Every piece in our collection is thoughtfully showcased, designed to last a lifetime with simple care. To ensure longevity, avoid exposing your display to direct sunlight and steer clear of damp or humid environments, such as bathrooms and kitchens. Refrain from opening the frame, and don't leave it unattended in storage for extended periods, as this may attract pests.

In the rare event that you observe dust-like specks within your frame, it could be book lice. Take proactive measures by placing the piece in the freezer for a minimum of 3 days to eliminate any living organisms. After a brief removal period, repeat the process to eradicate any unhatched eggs. During this time, closely monitor your entire collection, as isolation may be necessary.

Please note that Mellow's Delightful Oddities cannot be held responsible for any damage resulting from improper care of your displays.

Customizing Frame Colors

Certainly! You have the flexibility to change the frame color for the majority of our displays. Options typically include black, oak, or white. However, please be aware that certain unique displays might not offer this color customization feature.

If you're uncertain about the color options for a specific display, don't hesitate to reach out to me via Instagram or Facebook. I'll gladly confirm whether customization is possible for your chosen piece. Your satisfaction is important, and I'm here to assist you in creating the perfect presentation.

Commission Requests Welcome!

Absolutely! I welcome commission requests. Feel free to reach out to me through Facebook or Instagram, and we can have a detailed discussion about your preferences and ideas. I'm excited to collaborate with you to design the perfect display piece that aligns with your vision. Looking forward to creating something unique and special just for you!

BUT THEY SAID ITS ETHICAL

I know...

Regrettably, if you've been assured that the bat taxidermy you acquired is ethical, it's highly probable that this is not the reality. The process of obtaining bats for taxidermy frequently entails detrimental methods such as gassing their caves, leading to the deaths of hundreds or even thousands, driven by human greed.
